Together with the trading company Till, a congenial partner for CompactOffice, Bene realised a complete solution for Altana Pharma which meets contemporary demands for ergonomics, acoustics and light. Prior to that, model offices had to pass a stiff test.
Altana Pharma employs scientific staff to develop novel drugs and new therapeutic approaches. Staff communication typically takes place in varying configurations, allowing either close dialogue, open brainstorming or focused work.
Where to do what – and how? What is the routine workflow? What do people need here to feel at ease, to like working, and therefore work well? Werner Till, Hasan Colak and their team set about to find out in numerous staff interviews.
A FLEXIBLE CONCEPT OF SPACE.
Apart from more than 300 work stations, the idea was to create "think tanks", areas of inspiration and open meeting points. Flexibility in space design is key, particularly for a company like Altana which thrives on the balance between personal focused work and an open exchange of information and ideas.
Overall, it proved very beneficial to have Till Consult as a partner integrated in the planning process from a very early stage.
Till was a congenial partner for the desired global package in a host of ways. This package was supposed to include not only the entire product range, but also the required services on site – from support to planning, delivery and assembly. Furthermore, the project required efficient after-sales service and support.
A LIVE MODEL OFFICE.
To demonstrate a future office environment, Altana ordered and paid 16 work stations. Professor Lenz of the renowned Fraunhofer Institute and Till experts trained the Altana staff and raised their awareness of their own needs. Building department staff actually tested the model offices personally. They were in charge of new buildings and shared their experience with colleagues.
Every single work station meets contemporary demands for ergonomics, acoustics and light. Furniture mounted on castors and flexible wall systems that could be arranged freely ensure a maximum of flexibility in making full use of the available space.
In a multi-functional administrative complex like Altana Pharma’s the partition wall concept is attached special significance: The corridor wall must be transparent, signal openness and afford protection at the same time. The office wall must structure and organise the work place. The individual floors are subdivided into spaces with 1,700 running metres of walls.
ACOUSTIC DESIGN.
With the Altana project, Till was given the opportunity to prove their comprehensive specialised knowledge in the field of room acoustics. Bene’s walls met the high demands on sound absorption perfectly. Altana: compelling result of a congenial partnership.
