Light by Artemide has never been considered a mere tool for the improvement of human vision. Nor has it ever been the subject of experimentation on luminaire design. For more than forty years, the Artemide Group has considered light a human companion and a source of physical and mental well-being. With this in mind, Artemide’s specialised technical teams have focused on all aspects of lighting technology and fostered a concept based on a well-defined value scale, eventually called The Human Light.

Apart from the above definition, the name The Human Light represents smart illumination tailored to human needs and supporting daily human activities. In this regard, Artemide’s work is based on the concept of living situations, i.e. specific circumstances and environments that afford absolute priority to a person or persons.

Each of these situations can be assigned to different lighting situations or atmospheres that are characteristic of specific daily situations or activities. Based on these situations and their appropriate lighting, Artemide presents luminaires that fit the great diversity of human needs and create the right light for each of these situations.

THE ARTEMIDE GROUP
Established by Ernesto Gismondi and Sergio Mazza in 1959, the Artemide Group boasts sixteen affiliated companies and thirty-five exclusive sales points worldwide, with plants in Italy, France, Germany, the US, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
