Bene at Orgatec 2010: New product highlights for the office as a living space
At Orgatec 2010, the Austrian specialist in the worlds of office and work is pre-senting its new product highlights for its complete concept of the office as a living space. Bene is providing a contemporary overview of all of its office zones and areas. New products are being introduced under the motto “working in a living space”, such as the multifaceted and expanded PARCS modules, the RM Room Module and the R Platform wall system.Inspiring, diverse, multifaceted – Working in a Living Space
Well designed offices and work environments have an impact on the success of any company. Because the era of the knowledge economy places new demands on the office. The increasingly virtual and ever more mobile world of work requires solutions beyond conventional office designs. We need differentiated spaces for communication, cooperation, concentration, recreation. Different zones and areas must support employees in their daily activities, promote creativity and productivity, and function in the challenging tension between interaction and privacy. Bene has developed office landscapes similar to urban landscapes: inspiring, diverse, and multifaceted.
Corporate places – Three factors for success
Together with its clients and partners, Bene develops innovative office solutions to spatially represent the work processes, culture and identity of a company. Despite the mobility of modern work, the office remains an important physical site where corporate culture is manifest, as well as a strategic factor for success. In this context, Bene defines the optimal performance of an office with three criteria:
Cost efficiency – successful office planning reduces investment and planning costs through adaptable office layouts that make efficient use of floor space together with intelligent work processes (productivity, space optimisation, flexibility, upgradability, long life, quality, etc.)
Creating impact – the design of an office affects people’s behaviour and awareness in terms of motivation, commitment and creativity, productivity and willingness to perform, identification, respect, quality of communication, etc.
Communicating corporate values – the office represents a company’s self-understanding and identity in a tangible spatial way, and it communicates company values and brand essence.

In a production area of 42,000 m², Bene manufactures approximately 100,000 workplaces per year. That means approximately 600,000 individual pieces of furniture (desks, chairs, accessories, etc.) and about 35,000 metres of walls every year. Around 35 truck containers leave the production facility every day.
Bene's awards
Bene’s high design standards have been rewarded with numerous international design awards. In this year alone, Bene’s PARCS, B_Run, T Platform and Filo Table won eight international awards, such as the red dot award, the IF product design award, and the Focus Open 2010 international design prize from the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg. Furthermore, these products received seven nominations, including a nomination of four of these products for the design prize of the Federal Republic of Germany for 2011.
The trade fair booth – inviting and luminously bright
The design of Bene’s trade fair booth at ORGATEC 2010 demonstrates that office landscapes today are as diverse, inspiring and varied as urban landscapes. Bene views the office as a living space, divided into different zones and areas as individual as its users’ forms of work.
Open office layouts reflect the trend towards more communicative and cooperative work styles. This is why intelligent furniture and systems for partitioning and dividing spaces are in such demand: They should create interesting structures, be flexible, offer views and privacy at the same time, both in acoustic and visual terms.
PARCS serves as the visual and functional centre of Bene’s trade fair booth, as a lounge, meeting point, private area, workshop space and presentation tool. Space solutions for top management and conferencing with different media room packages are displayed along a U-formed path. Next, the RM Room Module presents completely new opportunities in design and partitioning for open office landscapes. Areas for meetings, management and think tanks are created with the new R Platform wall system.
