Bene Thursday

BMW Plant Leipzig - Central Building by Zaha Hadid Architects

The first of a compelling series of Bene Thursdays for 2005 was successfully held on 17 February 2005 in the Bene London showroom.

The event was a resounding success and attracted 180 key members of the UK architectural community. The focus of the evening was on the work of leading architectural practice Zaha Hadid on the recently completed BMW building in Leipzig, Germany.

The night began with a drinks reception and complimentary shoulder and face massage by our "Relax, it’s Bene" masseurs.
Lars Teichmann
, project architect and Didi Lenz of Bene then delivered an inspiring presentation taking guests through the design and construction of the project.

Following the presentation guests were treated to platters of traditional Austrian food as well as drinks at the Bene bar, which went on until later that evening.

The evening also featured a competition where an architect’s trip to the BMW plant was awarded to the person who could most accurately guess the volume of the pod (meeting area hot spot) designed especially for BMW by Bene. Congratulations to Akel Mili from Llewelyn Davis for guessing to nearest decimal point!

The tone has been set for a fantastic series of Bene Thursdays in 2005!
