Milan Furniture Fair

Trends and impressions

The "Salone del Mobile" has long been regarded as a reliable trend barometer by the industry, and the Milan furniture fair is itself now becoming a trend.

In general, it can be seen that the 70s are still being quoted in the language of colours and forms. There are however an increasing number of links to the colours of the eighties: black and white are on the up again! Whereas on the one hand reduction verging on asceticism dominates, the parallel trend towards décor, tradition and voluptuousness is also booming. Ingo Maurer with is conceptual approach of "kitsch and poetry" is diametrically opposed to Armani, who appears more reduced, classical and without frills than ever before in order to project prestige by understatement.

Armani Casa succeeded in a completely independent way. The entree of the "Armani teatro" convinced with minimized architecture of Tadao Ando. Classic elements dominated, partially similar to Alvar Aalto but interpreted independently. Armani impressed with his set. Even if it looks extremely cool, the brand becomes noticeably, completely "sophisticated and unpretentious" according to Armani's credo.
