Office meets Light

A shiny new, eye-catching office building designed by Architektur Consult, the office of prominent architects Domenig, Eisenköck and Peyker, now graces Graz’s town centre. At Grabenstrasse 23, behind the gleaming glass and metal facade are all of the latest accoutrements of modern building technology. Located right next to the northern entrance to Graz, right in the heart of the city near the Schlossberg mountain, this prominent, angular building is home to the new Bene/Zumtobel Staff headquarters in southern Austria. Here, the two Austrian companies, both successful in their own right, have put their innovative office space solutions and lighting ideas on display to the public starting April 1, 2004.

The showroom’s architecture is transparent and open, a generosity that is emphasised even further thanks to the 3.70 m ceiling height. The display area is spread out over two floors and laid out in a cross pattern. Two staircases, lit to simulate daylight, add additional interest to this unique floor plan.
The showroom provides Bene and Zumtobel with a total of 1,200 square metres for displaying their current furniture and lighting programmes.

All of the rooms are furnished and illuminated with Bene and Zumtobel Staff products. Over 600 guests, including a number of celebrities, were on hand to celebrate with Bene and Zumtobel late into the evening, making the opening of the joint showroom a smashing success!
