Office.Playlist #17
This edition of the Office.Playlist is presented to you by:
WIENER
Incredible but true: WIENER has existed now for over 30 years. It was founded in 1979 by young movers and shakers who were bored with the Austrian print media and wanted to create a more visually-oriented product. In an interview with HORIZONT, WIENER "father" Gert Winkler recalls that it was "the first illustrated magazine, the first medium to bring together visual themes such as fashion, design, architecture and art". And he went on to say that "each issue stood alone - we focussed on things that we personally considered important. WIENER, like every medium, bore the signature of its creators".
Times were turbulent back then. Editors, owners and the team changed several times, but the publication’s spirit has basically remained the same. WIENER should interest, inform, polarise and astound, but above all it should be fun. Both for those who create it and for those who read it. Have a look: www.wiener-online.at
And while we’re on the topic of enjoying life... We can’t leave out the music. Falco, for example, was "discovered" by WIENER. Today, the music department is in the expert hands of Sandra Keplinger. Andreas Schiller goes out to find new sounds and new bands. And Mr. Walter "Monkey Music" Gröbchen delivers the commentary. Our Office.Playlist? A sampling of the magazine’s favourites from the last two years. Rock n’ Roll!
