Architect: tp BennettShire is a rapidly growing pharmaceutical company specialising in the treatment of ADHD, gastro-intestinal illnesses, and rare hereditary diseases. The company, about 25 years old, employs 4,000 people in over 25 countries. Their medications are sold in over 50 countries.
Growth needs room
... which is why Shire was looking for a new location in Switzerland for about 180 employees. They found a spot in the new building of the "Terre Bonne" Business Center in Nyon near Geneva. Two floors offer approximately 3,400 square metres of room; and yet space efficiency was still a major factor in the planning. The building’s H-shape enabled all of the workstations to be located in open space along the windows. This ensures a pleasant, bright atmosphere, which is highlighted by the natural colours of the furniture. KT Pedestals with KB Boxes mounted on top provide generous storage. At the same time they function as partitioning.
Variety is hot right now
The days where you did all your work at your own desk are long gone. Meeting rooms as well as areas for informal communication are becoming increasingly important. The PARCS furniture collection from Bene, with its spontaneity and versatile design possibilities, promotes collaboration wherever it is used - also at Shire. Because in the end, most ideas arise during face-to-face discussions. Such break-out zones are distributed throughout the entire open space – always ready for a spontaneous get-together. The Idea Wall provides a place for relaxed brainstorming and presentations, and the Wing series makes it possible to step away and enjoying a certain amount of privacy.
The cafeteria conveys a feeling of lightness and creates a casual environment with its colour accents. For meetings "at the table" – at a conference table – there is the adaptable Filo Table with its Filo chairs.
In a nutshell: the newly furnished office offers its users variety and functionality in a timeless design.
