Classicon
Classicon was founded with the purpose of propagating first-class design.
This German company encourages top quality, functionality and timeless aesthetics independent from fashion trends.
Manufacturing pieces originally designed by
Eileen Gray (1879 – 1976), Classicon fosters a very typical philosophy of its own. Eileen Gray had shaped the style of the nineteen twenties and thirties by developing avant-garde design and architectural methods. A contemporary of Mies van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer, she came up with bold furniture pieces made of chrome, tubular steel and glass as early as 1925.
Today her individualistic pieces are considered classics par excellence: The most impressive samples of her work include the exclusive, widely captivating "Monte Carlo" sofa, or the "E1027" adjustable table (named after her house), whose ingeniously proportioned, distinctive form has made it one of the most popular design icons of the twentieth century.
