Denz_D5: The name is a programme: office, library, shop design, a guidance system and living space – these are five important functional options and applications of the new shelving system. It is appealing, in addition to its classic storage capacity, by its architectural function to structure a space, as a system for concepts of labelling and guidance, as well as a medium that reflects corporate identities, and – last but not least, for the integration of multimedia technology.
Flexible Wall
The peculariar charm of Denz_D5, in addition to its modularity, lies in the options for the back panels: no reinforcements or back walls are required due to a patented structure. Concealed rails that can at any time be activated or deactivated, allow to add back walls at a later stage. These plexiglass panels can be silk screened according to clients’ specifications and thus offer a variety of relatively cost-effective options for company logos, decorative designs or placing of information. Most of all, the panels can easily be rearranged, removed or exchanged by others without requiring any major assembly work. Indeed, true modularity gives clients the freedom to change form, function or colour.
Another option is that the panels can easily be wired. Thus LED technlogy and integration of flat screens can easily be attached to two standard notches. Screens behind Magic Mirror glass turn Denz_D5 into a real high-end solution.
Denz – from dealer to manufacturer
The success story of Denz started in Zurich in 1968. Albert Denz then started representing a number of German producers of office furniture in Switzerland. In 1974 he started to develop and manufacture his own office furniture. His motto: consistent, contemporary product design, longevity in form and function, the use of high quality materials and a high standard of craftsmanship. In the early 1990’s the company developed a unique concept: The office system Denz_D3 was created in cooperation with the designer duo Greutmann Bolzern from Zurich. It is based on a modular design, reduced to clear and plain lines and allows flexibility.
Denz & Bene
When D3 had been on the Swiss market for some ten years, the product portfolio was enlarged. The result is the newly developed shelving system Denz_D5, which was launched as a global novelty in Zurich in 2005. To sell Denz_D5 also outside Switzerland, Denz now cooperates with Bene. Already in September 2006 Bene introduced the shelving system to an interested audience during the opening of Bene’s new b-loose division. After its presentation in the Vienna showroom during Bene’s pre-Christmas exhibition the programme will now be introduced in all other Bene shops all over Europe.
