270-page-strong “The Office as Living Space”
Just published: the new Bene product catalogue. The Bene world at a glance – that’s what the new product catalogue offersBehind the title "The Office as Living Space," you will find not just a comprehensive overview of Bene products and merchandise, but also a broad reservoir of concepts and ideas for everyone who works with the design of modern landscapes. All zones and areas – as individual as the work forms of their users – are considered individually. Rich in images, supported by a multifaceted range of products and complemented by current research results and valuable experiences.
A large portion of the catalogue is dedicated to the topic of "planning and design". Here you will read valuable information about office forms, room division, work positions, acoustics, lighting, design worlds and further relevant questions concerning office work and design.
In accordance with our motto, "We design spaces," Bene also introduces its comprehensive range of services, from planning and consulting to furnishing and decoration, from logistics to after-sales services.
Module 1: The Spatial Concept
Did you know that with the right furnishing concept the average surface requirement of 30.8 m2 per employee can be reduced by up to 28 percent – without lowering occupancy quality?* "Density" is the specialised term for this, and it requires a bit of thought. The spatial concept becomes a cornerstone, both in terms of efficiency and a diversified, vitally energised atmosphere, that speaks precisely to user needs – and from which both employees and companies can profit equally.
For this reason, Bene’s first step is to develop and analyse success factors for office design together with customers in the context of an efficiency analysis. Then needs are analysed and defined. The spatial concept, divided into macro and micro layouts, is based on these results.
Macro layout
First of all, the macro layout contains the floor plan, which focuses on the efficient use of existing space. Organisational units and areas are assigned in relation to their location and size. Areas for communication, workstations and concentration are represented in different colours. Then we break it down into zones and partitions: this creates the optimal office form (cubicle office, combination office, team office or Open Office). Zones and areas are defined and positioned in the layout with icons. This step takes work processes and information flows into account.
Micro layout
Next we create the micro layout. In the furnishing concept, workplace layouts are developed and planned, and the most important functions and features of the furnishings are explained. Technical concepts, such as those for lighting planning, media or building services, also enter the picture here.
At the end of the entire process, a carefully considered, pioneering concept for the "Office as Living Space" is the result. A place that is diverse and inspiring, yet is also distinguished by efficiency in terms of surface utilisation and future work processes.
