International standards are very popular for office complexes in Central and Eastern Europe – and increasingly the new reality. Typical elements are glass facades, quality and high-tech appeal. Our current example hails from Belgrade: the offices of the Norwegian Telecom corporation Telenor, furnished by Bene.

'It was important for me to focus on the glass facade as the cornerstone of the architecture and to continue this trend with the interior design'
, explains architect Dragana Pjevic, responsible for the office design at Telenor, 'Bene’s RG glass walls were perfect for that purpose. They let daylight in and create openness and separation at the same time.' The modern office complex is part of the Airport City Center in the bustling business district of Belgrade near the airport.

Simple and inspiring.

This is the Serbian headquarters of Telenor, Norway's largest Telecom provider and one of the fastest growing mobile network providers worldwide. The corporate motto is: 'Make it easy, Keep promises, Be inspiring and Be respectful.' With 150 years of experience in communication business under its belt, Telenor prides itself of innovative solutions and 100m customers in 13 countries worldwide. Telenor operates the first mobile network in Serbia.

Communication needs space.

Architect Dragana Pjevic developed together with Bene consultants a hip office concept. On a total of five storeys with 460 workstations a variety of zones, areas and office forms have been implemented: Combination offices with maximum transparency and sound insulation, a number of conference and meeting rooms, a call centre, open office areas of different sizes with 'working zones' and flexible furnishing for team work; furthermore 'silent rooms' for private telephone calls and ad hoc meetings, a 'buffer zone' with a tea kitchen and stand-up tables for informal communication. The result is a work landscape that facilitates communication and concentration.

Team needs flexibility.

Flexibility was paramount for working areas. Bene X9 worktables meet the needs of variable team sizes and changing requirements of work forms and processes. Individual tables are assembled as a workbench that is not fixed, but can easily be moved. Table panels as partitioning provide separation and structure at the workplace. The impressive number of height adjustable Bene lift desks, currently 200 – signals the flexibility of the employees and the company.

Offices need spirit.

For the employees, Telenor will be a great place to work, where performance-driven people are inspired to grow and develop. Office design contributes to that goal. Open-mindedness, modernism and quality awareness are symbolised by colours and materials such as glass and aluminium. High-tech feeling included. The quality Bene AL_Group furniture sets highlights in the areas of management and meeting. 'I was very impressed by the quality of Bene products', commends architect Dragana Pjevic, 'Bene has tradition and at the same time it is a modern European company.'
