A Matter of Trust

In June 2005, the international auditing and consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers moved into its new headquarters in Paris. The company employs about 2,300 staff at its new location in Neuilly sur Seine. Bene developed a customised, top executive-class solution.

PricewaterhouseCoopers ranks among leading auditing and consultancy firms. The company, with headquarters in New York, employs about 122,000 staff in 144 countries worldwide and had been active from five locations in France till now. In an effort to optimise its internal flow of communication, PwC decided to integrate all locations and seize this occasion to take Landwell, a law firm, on board as a new partner.

Following a selection process, the choice of new head office eventually fell on the former headquarters of St. Gobain, Crystal Park, which had been renovated by Valode et Pistre architects with careful attention to detail. Situated at a mere ten-minute walking distance from La Défense and Arc de Triomphe, the building was earmarked because of its central city location and its generous glass façade. The interior design contract was awarded to Paris' largest interior design consultants, the prestigious architectural firm AOS, which took great care in meeting PriceWaterhouse's brief for discreet planning.

PricewaterhouseCoopers and Landwell are now occupying a total of seven office floors. To ensure the desired level of privacy, the offices were structured cell-type. Bene has been responsible for the fit-out of the top Executive areas: In cooperation with Bene's furnishing specialist Silvera Mobilier, 640 directors' and partners' offices were fitted out with the AL_Group Management programme.

"The offices are furnished in a spirit of understatement so typical of Pricewaterhouse Coopers", explains Susanne Danzer, sales manager from Bene France. We won the contract because of the design, the stylish integration of IT and the AL programme's design consistency." The executive wenge-wood offices – each consisting of a desk with a pedestal below, an AL-K backboard and a large K2 hinged-door storage cabinet – were delivered and completed within a matter of eight weeks. "A fantastic client and super collaboration", says Susanne Danzer, adding: "We are extremely appreciative of the trust that PricewaterhouseCoopers has placed in us".
