SHIELDED by Bene: Physical distancing to stay social

The need for social contact despite physical distancing: Bene is rising to the challenge, as we prepare for the “new normal” in the office. “SHIELDED by Bene” is a transparent, mobile protective screen designed by the international office expert, offering a simple way to separate workstations from each other, and so provide a safe working environment.

The whole world is bracing itself against the Covid-19 pandemic. The world of work is one of the most significantly impacted aspects of our lives, and we now face the challenge of ensuring the necessary hygienic and protective measures are in place as apprehensive employees return to work. Bene sees the office as a place where dialogue and interaction are a fundamental part of life. But the way we live and work in the office now faces a tough test. The specialist in the design and furnishing of modern working environments is launching a new product to ensure social contact can continue in the office: SHIELDED by Bene are protective screens to divide workspaces, which can be used as individual elements or combined to fit a wide range of situations.

Self-explanatory and universal, with no assembly required

SHIELDED by Bene helps to reduce the risk of transmitting infectious diseases that can be spread by coughing or sneezing – making it a significant complement to physical distancing. The protective shield is made of high-quality acrylic glass and can be simply positioned horizontally or vertically on table surfaces, or at reception desks and counters, with no need for installation: a versatile solution that provides the best possible protection for employees, customers and delivery workers.

“The most important rule for the new kind of togetherness is ‘social distancing’. This is not always easy to achieve in the office. So we describe it as ‘physical distancing to stay social’, and by launching our new product, SHIELDED by Bene, we are making our contribution to a safer working environment,” says Michael Fried, Executive Board Member for Sales, Marketing and Innovation at Bene.

“Challenge the Future of Work” report

What opportunities do digitalisation and artificial intelligence mean for companies and their employees? How should managers reinterpret their role? What is it that actually motivates people to work today? And what is it that makes our work not just successful, but also fulfilling? To research these issues, together with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI), Bene surveyed 1,200 people from 34 countries about the current situation and the future of work – with surprising results.
