Design Innovation Office Trends

Once more Bene's design quality and innovation power has been endorsed with this design award. The workstation program CUBE_S received the German Design Award 2015 Special Mention by the German Council for Design. Form and function convinced the jury. This is already the third design award for CUBE_S. Last year, the program received the red dot design award and the Interior Innovation Award.

The German Design Award is the international premium prize given by the German Council for Design. Awards go to high quality products and projects in product and communication design as well as to design personalities and young designers who are in pioneering in their field within the German and international design landscape. The aim of the award is to recognise, present and award unique design trends. A competition that moves the design scene forward and highlights great design skills of the participants. The German Design Award is also highly regarded by the business world and the public. This is due to the renown of the organiser, the Council for Design, which has represented German design for the past 60 years and supports the business world skilfully and vigorously in all design aspects.

Premium prize for design quality

The high calibre international jury evaluated a total of 2,250 submissions. The workstation program CUBE_S by Bene received the Special Mention award for particular design quality. This prize honours work with especially successful design aspects or that offers great solutions.

The jury of the German Design Award 2015 is composed of design experts from different fields with backgrounds in business, teaching and science as well as from the design sector.  The jury’s evaluations are made based on different criteria such as design quality, innovation level, brand value, functionality, ergonomics and ecological compatibility.

Like working in a cockpit

Bene’s CUBE_S workstation programme is an intelligent answer to new work cultures. Thanks to modular components, workstations and storage can be combined with each other in multiple ways in an open-plan office. Usability from either side as well as flexible connection options are foremost: The special feature, enabling the storage area to be connected to the side of the table-top, not only means that comfort is maximised, it also gives users the necessary freedom to organise their workstation individually.
The consolidation of workstations means that office space becomes available for alternative workplaces such as the so-called "We-Places" which are places for communication. Designer Christian Horner: “Work has undergone a profound transformation in recent years, and different activity profiles have emerged. Even with a variety of working methods and workstation typologies, however, the classic workstation will never completely disappear. CUBE_S is a modern response to new modes of work in Open Space.”

Innovation power convinces in the project business.

A great number of companies rely on the space efficiency of CUBE_S: The technology company Varian Medical Systems, or the shoe business CCC, who fitted their head office in Germany at Frankfurt Airport with CUBE_S. The international consultancy firm Rödl&Partner designed their new offices in the Cologne "Crane Buildings" with CUBE_S. The furniture system is also very popular in Austria. Customers such as the Vorarlberg based metal fittings specialist Blum and the drinks company RAUCH Fruchtsäfte have made the switch to CUBE_S for their classic workstations. CUBE_S has also been an international success: Bene has won large scale projects such as the pensions company Public Institution for Social Security or the property company WAFRA real estate in Kuwait by offering CUBE_S.
