At the invitation of the Dubai government, Bene will furnish the world’s first ever 3D-printed office building with innovative furniture and a future-oriented innovation area, the Bene IDEA LAB. The “Office of the Future” is expected to open in the spring of 2016.
The “Office of the Future” is the first major project of the Dubai Futures Foundation, a government initiative aimed at promoting pioneering and innovative projects and partnerships. The project forms part of a comprehensive strategy that presents innovative solutions to the challenges of the 21st century. The future of real estate, construction, and design is a recurring theme.
Bene was chosen as an interior design partner for this ambitious building, providing a design concept that is future-oriented and promotes innovation.
The design for the space and the furnishing will be tailored to meet the needs of tomorrow’s working environment. The space has an open and flexible design and is suitable for a wide variety of potential applications and team sizes. The aim is for the building to become an established cultural centre in the region, through a mix of public and private events.
Two of the buildings furnished by Bene will serve as the base for local management and the associated project team. Traditional office work will not be the primary focus here in the future: the areas will act as an interface for communication and discussion with interested parties from all over the world, fitted out with furniture from Bene’s AL and Filo management ranges, along with different settings from the PARCS series.
The largest building and centrepiece of the “Office of the Future” will be fitted out with a Bene IDEA LAB. This is a room that creates the optimum environment for innovation. It is where creative individuals are able to develop and implement their ideas. Equipped with a highly intelligent and interactive media wall, the IDEA WALL, as well as settings from the PARCS and TIMBA design lines that create the spaces required for exchange, discussion, and retreat, the Bene IDEA LAB enables unfettered creativity in the form of brainstorming sessions, presentations, and focused individual work.
For Michael Fried, Managing Director of Sales, Marketing, and Innovation at Bene, the opportunity to take part in this ambitious project is a testament to Bene’s strength when it comes to innovation. “Through our contribution to the “Office of the Future”, we have once again been able to demonstrate the Bene Group’s leading role as an international supplier of inspiring office and working environments. This is a particularly exciting project, as the client is just as committed as Bene to the notion that investments in forward-looking and innovative working environments have a crucial impact on a company’s success. Being able to play an active part in such an ambitious project is for us also a major sign of appreciation from the Dubai government.”
Bene will use the “Office of the Future” as a platform for sharing information about the latest office trends with architects, designers, and customers in the Gulf Region. Regular knowledge transfer events are also planned.
