Address: Vordere Zollamtsstrasse 7, 1030 Vienna, Austria
Sector: Education, Training & Research
As part of the “Angewandte Festival” from 29 June to 2 July 2021, a public exhibition and programme took place at the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Vordere Zollamtsstrasse 7, 1030 Vienna, 2nd Floor, Room “Flux 2”).
The public programme “Are We There Yet?” asks questions about equality in the context of social inequality and searches for conditions that enable a good life for everyone. It focuses on the fair distribution of spatial resources, the shift in power relations in language, education and knowledge and on boosting the visibility of anti-racist and queer-feminist positions. In addition to staging various performances in public space, this event presents artistic contributions and discursive processes in the “Flux II” room at the Angewandte.
The exhibition was intentionally designed as a workshop lab where numerous research institutions invite visitors to engage with these issues of equality.
Bene supported this project by lending the PIXEL boxes that are used as seating elements and platforms in the room.
