Harella House Bene’s home in London

Harella House in Clerkenwell is the home of Bene’s new showroom in London. A building with a distinctive history that is reflected in the renovation for today’s users: Harella House is named after its original owners, Harella International Fashions, which was one of the largest and most successful exporters of women’s clothing in the United Kingdom. After some architectural adjustments made in the 1970s, the building has recently been renovated and modernised by Piercy&Company, to suit 21st century requirements, while retaining subtle references to its rich history and characteristic art deco style.

To revitalise the original charms of the building, riveted steel columns, perimeter brickwork piers and concrete encased beams have been revealed. These are combined with high ceilings and large steel-framed crittal windows to create 3,107 m2 of light-filled industrial style office space over several floors. The new Bene showroom is located on the third floor.

Here visitors can see classic workstations equipped with LEVEL TWIN or Delta Bench and matching storage solutions such as K2 Storage. Much of the showroom display is dedicated to comfortable, informal settings for meetings and coworking in colourful and yet harmonious combinations of the latest design lines:

A leading role is played by PORTS. This range is designed for inspiring collaborative work and is a response to the high expectations of contemporary management ideals. PORTS Lounge, Chairs, Table, Storage and Task Lounge have been used to create a variety of multifunctional spaces reflecting all the different types of modern working styles, allowing for encounter zones as well as places for retreat and privacy.

A variety of desking solutions are represented throughout the space, presenting options for different working styles and functions; be it for individual or team working spaces in the open office, or more private executive office set-ups.

No Bene showroom would be complete without the innovative PIXEL range, which has already become a classic – flexible furnishing components for all forms of teamwork. Another classic arrangement combines the friendly Settle Sofa with Pop-up Stools. Amongst the newer product lines is the CASUAL range in the work café, with its Bench, Lounge Chair and Table, available in three heights, for informal, relaxed meetings.

Set amongst all these are soundproof islands of calm in the form of NOOXS Think Tanks and the Bene Phone Booth. The size of a Think Tank is notable, with ample room for spacious team meetings. Equipped with a screen it is the ideal workspace for calls and hybrid teamwork.

Our living and working environments reflect our day-to-day thoughts and feelings. Comfort has now become one of the key requirements for offices and workspaces in general. The new Bene showroom in London showcases how new working environments can look like: Feeling at ease in the office, working together on new projects, being inspired and supported by your surroundings.
