Sparkasse Oberpfalz Nord is a public financial institution based in Weiden, Bavaria. As a member of the Sparkasse banking group, its activities include arranging home loans for the LBS building society, managing funds for the Deka investment group, and insurance policies for the Versicherungskammer Bayern. It employs almost 360 people across its 29 business offices and self-service locations. The Sparkasse’s Innovation Lab is the first fully digitalised advice centre operated by a banking institution anywhere in the world.
The Sparkasse’s innovative advice concept, S@ON, has been perfectly expressed in the design style. Here smart banking meets smart working. This ultra-modern overall design project includes furnishings, colour concept, acoustics and exceptional lighting design: a 63 metre lighting strip functions both as signposting and illumination – a strong (light) signal. The Innovation Lab has a total area of 288 m2 and was created in collaboration with designfunktion Nuremberg, who are experts in planning and interiors for banks and insurance companies. It combines modern design and optimal functionality with an appealing feel-good atmosphere.
The setting includes a range of styles from the product families PARCS, DOCKLANDS and TIMBA, for various different types of use. PARCS American Diner and PARCS Toguna, the creative room-within-a-room solution, make it possible to hold focused discussions in small groups. DOCKLANDS Dock-In Bay provides a space for digital consulting and focused work. For creative brainstorming sessions, the IDEA Wall combined with PARCS Pop Up stools provide an innovation space. A TIMBA Table and Stools in the open consulting areas, and PARCS Causeways in the entrance area, create a sense of transparency and a “feel-good” banking atmosphere.
This space presents the future of smart banking in a visible form – smart, digital and direct.
