Construction of the photovoltaic system on the roof of the production hall

Sustainability has become an overriding concern for companies. Given increasing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) regulations, companies are faced with many challenges on their journey to the green transformation.

To produce our products even more sustainably, Bene has installed a new photovoltaic system on the roof of the production hall in Waidhofen an der Ybbs. Since May 2023, a thermal roof renovation has been carried out. The existing roofing (cold roof) was replaced with a significantly lighter warm roof structure to enable the installation of the photovoltaic system. Due to the higher insulation effect of the new roofing, the heating energy requirement could be significantly reduced. As a result, the demand for wood chips in the new heating system has decreased considerably, allowing the chips to be sold as recycled material. The need for heating oil has even been completely eliminated.
