Simon Schoßböck

For Simon Schoßböck, good design requires a holistic approach: the right design for the style of the brand, the right manufacturing processes and materials, as well as the appropriate functions and ergonomic aspects for the relevant market segment. Good design takes many factors into account and ultimately contributes to the success of the product.

Born in 1990 in Eggenfelden, Lower Bavaria, the designer completed a rigorous technical training as an engineer specialising in automation technology. His first and formative contact with creation and design came in 2010 during his subsequent years as technical director in Martin Ballendat's studio.

In 2020, he founded 07eins GmbH for automotive engine technology, which laid the economic foundation for his own design studio through various developments and property rights in the field of combustion engines. Since founding schossboeck.design in 2021, he has been designing and developing cross-industry furniture and product concepts for international customers, with a particular focus on efficient engineering and sustainable design.

Ideally, function and design are two sides of the same coin. The principle of ‘form follows function’ is an important guideline for me. It gives the products a certain honesty - I think it's noticeable when the design follows the basic rules of technology.
