Bielefeld-based Schüco has expanded its company headquarters: in addition to building completely new buildings and extensions, some of the existing structures on the Schüco Campus have also been updated.. Among them is the former production hall, which has been transformed into a modern “new work” office building renovated in line with sustainable principles.
What makes this particular set of offices unique are the glimpses that remain here and there of their former life as a production facility. For reasons of both aesthetics and sustainability, elements such as old doors and windows have been recycled with cradle-to-cradle certification.
Bene has provided the furniture for a pilot space on the ground floor. Twenty-two workstations as well as collaboration zones were planned and created in a space measuring 385 m2. Height-adjustable LEVEL PURE LIFT work desks allow for a wide variety of work to be done while standing or sitting. On the subject of sitting, incidentally, employees can do so particularly comfortably and ergonomically on the RIYA swivel chairs. Meanwhile, mobile FRAME_S boards offer a flexible framework that is ideal for open-plan offices. This workplace system allows separate areas for teams and departments to be created without having to structurally alter the building in any way. All the other elements are highly functional and meet all the requirements for modern design, such as CUBE_S products and CT Pedestals.
The options available for meetings are equally varied: Furniture from the PARCS product family, PARCS Causeways, Wing Chairs and Pop-up Stools, create homely upholstered communication zones, in anthracite, grey and yellow – a colour concept for which the PIXELs are also a perfect match. The PIXEL elements themselves have been used to construct a high table, in combination with the TIMBA stools.
The real attention grabber in this office landscape, however, is undoubtedly an super-sized Giant PIXEL, which can also be used as a semi private meeting space.
The Schüco Group develops and sells system solutions for windows, doors and façades. Alongside these innovative products for residential and commercial buildings, the building envelope specialist offers consultation and digital solutions for all phases of a building project. Its range of products and services is complemented by production machinery and a 360° sustainability cycle. The company has 5,650 employees and 12,000 partners in over 80 countries.
